We were finding people weren't really attracted to the green so we've decided to give her a nice life in bright yellow. This yellow is one of my favourite colours and I've painted a few Kombis in this similar scheme so hopefully you love it as much as I do.
If you are after a solid Kombi camper, Blondie should tick the boxes. We almost always start with Kombis that are pretty dry with minimal rust. Blondie was no exception to this. We brought this one up from VIC where it had lived for six years with a VW enthusiast who looked after it lovingly and had just traded up to a splitty. The 77-79 models were German imports and the metal was of a better quality so generally speaking they don't rust as much. What minor rust we found was properly cut and welded before painting.
We have also jazzed up the interior a bit as it had been done previously and was showing it's age. It's now nice, functional and presentable. There is an old 3-way fridge which we haven't tested but you could probably get that going pretty easily. The rock-n-roll seat works well and makes a comfy bed. The only thing we would suggest doing would be replacing the canvas on the poptop. We could supply and fit a new one in your choice of pattern for and additional $1,200.
As we mentioned, Blondie's last caretaker was a VW enthusiast in VIC who used her on a daily basis so mechanically speaking she's pretty good. She's fitted with a 2 litre engine and gearbox which is the most sought after combination and makes for good highway cruising. We will have it all checked for a NSW roadworthy so you'll have no problem there. If you are interstate you will need to pass your own roadworthy which unfortunately we cannot guarantee as we are unable to have the vehicle checked in other states.
Price includes six months registration for NSW buyer or free vehicle transport to Melbourne or Brisbane and up to $500 towards freight to other states and regional areas.
